Each year, the Orchestre Métropolitain transforms Mount Royal Park into an open‑air stage for a grand free concert, where families, friends, and music lovers gather in a spirit of celebration and discovery.
OM at the foot of Mount Royal
Presented by CN, in collaboration with Le Groupe Maurice
A highlight of the summer season, OM at the foot of Mount Royal, presented by CN in collaboration with Le Groupe Maurice, will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, beginning at 5 p.m. with the Symphonic Picnic and at 7:30 p.m. for the concert itself.
A beloved summer tradition for thousands of Montrealers, the Orchestre Métropolitain’s large-scale free concert in the shadow of the city’s iconic mountain will this year be part of the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of Mount Royal Park. Presented as part of CAM Touring Program, the concert will be hosted by ambassador Fabiola Nyrva Aladin and conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
For the occasion, the Orchestra will present a program filled with luminous, evocative and emotionally charged music. Audiences will hear Edvard Grieg’s masterful Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, renowned for its richly atmospheric writing, as well as Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, a vast musical mosaic celebrating the richness of American influences and cultures. The concert will also feature the premiere of Montréal Cirque, a new commission by Ana Sokolović rooted in both the present moment and the territory itself, along with all the Romantic verve of Quebec composer Guillaume Couture in Rêveries.
The guest artist for the 2026 edition of OM at the foot of Mount Royal will be announced at a later date.
Slightly Relocated Main Stage
Please note that the main stage, still located at the foot of Mount Royal, will be slightly relocated and positioned parallel to Avenue du Parc.
