Donor Recognition Program

The Recognition Program is a testament to the Orchestre Métropolitain’s values of inclusion, unity, community, and ecoresponsability.

This program offers an inclusive formula that recognizes the generosity and impact of our donors beyond the monetary value of their contribution.

It aims to also create occassions for the OM’s donors to interact with each other, reinforcing our OM communtiy and witnessing firsthand the role they play in the orchestra.

How it works

This program offers a more integrated and open approach to all donors who contribute $200 or more.

The program consists of 11 OM Experiences. These are intimate encounters that allow you experience the OM with new perspectives. There are a variety of events on both weekdays and weekends as well as day and night, and even one for the children in your life!

Each experience is preceded by an hour of light refreshments and socialization. We also offer these experiences in the spirit of ecological responsibility, believing that those who love the OM appreciate an intimate experience as a thank you over a physical object with a carbon footprint.

Each donor can attend 2, 3 or 4 activities of their choice from the selections available according to their donation level. There are also 2 reserved OM Experiences for donors who give $1,000 or more.

All donors who have made a donation since September 1, 2022 are eligibile to participate in the Donor Recognition Program.

All donors will receive a digital recognition, based on the level of their donation.

Masterclass with Artist in Residence – Clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer

Join Andreas Ottensamer, clarinetist and OM Artist in Residence for his masterclass with students of the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal. Ottensamer, Principal Clarinettist of the Berlin Philharmonic is renowned for his heartfelt performances that penetrate the surface brilliance of virtuoso showpieces to reveal hidden depths of emotion, while his multi-layered meditations on the most lyrical of clarinet melodies span a vast landscape of feelings and expression.

Please note that due to the presence of an international artist, this event will be held primarily in English with some French.

The Magic Behind the Scenes: Tour Planning and Backstage Visit of the Maison symphonique

Join Luc Chaput, Orchestra Personnel Manager and former Tour Director as together we explore the nuances and masterful logistics necessary to realize an international tour of a symphonic orchestra. After this discussion, monsieur Chaput will lead a tour of the backstage of the Maison symphonique, an unforgetable expeirence for any regular of the Maison symphonique.

Hope, Solidarity, and Chostakovitch: Rehearsal with Yannick Nézet-Séguin

Witness a rehearsal of Shostakovich’s monumental Symphony No. 7 “Leningrad” under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Donors are seated in the choir loft so they can witness the inspiring dynamic between the musicians and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, to see the instruments up close and admire the beauty of the Maison symphonique.

From the Abyss to the Stars with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Chœur Métropolitain: Dress Rehearsal

Witness Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Orchestre Métropolitian, and the Chœur Métropolitain in all its splendor during this dress rehearsal. A dress rehearsal is the final rehearsal just before the concert. It is a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into an orchestra performance at the Maison symphonique.

The Art of Programming and Collaborating with Naomi Woo

Join the OM’s Artistic Collaborator Naomi Woo in a forum where she discusses her intimate collaboration with Yannick Nézet-Séguin as well as her experiences as a former member of the OM’s Academy of Orchestral Direction. For a special sneak peak, she will also discuss some of the exciting repertoire of the 2024-2025 season.

Architecture with the Architect: Visit of the Maison symphonique

Michel Languedoc, an architectural advisor with the firm Ædifica, created the plans for the Maison symphonique of Montréal. The OM is thrilled to welcome him back to give presentation and a tour of the building while discussing his unique experiences and perspectives as well as the features that make the Maison symphonique such an iconic landmark for music and architecture lovers alike.

Voices in Harmony: Meet the Choirmasters and Attend a Rehearsal of the Chœur Métropolitain

As part of the final preparations for the Chœur Métropolitain’s concert of Orff’s Carmina Burana, we invite you to join us for a discussion to get to know the two chorimasters François A. Ouimet and Pierre Tourville and their beloved chorus. Afterwards, you will stay for part of a rehearsal to see the two maestri in action with the talents of the Chœur Métropolitain.

Meet the Next Generation of Conductors: Masterclass of the Academy of the Orchestral Conducting and Post-Masterclass Cocktail

Join Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the OM, and the emerging conductors of the OM’s Academy of Orchestral Conducting at the Centre Pierre-Péladeau for a masterclass in conducting in which Yannick guides each one of these talented emerging conductors. After the masterclass, join the Academy members for a cocktail in the Salon Orange of the Centre Pierre-Péladeau to meet the next generation of orchstra conductors.
