A mural paying tribute to Yannick Nézet-Séguin!

This Saturday, we had the great pleasure of unveiling a mural celebrating our artistic director and conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin!

The mural is the 27th installment in MU’s Tribute to Montreal’s Great Artist series that was launched in 2010. Completed in partnership with the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough, the project received support from many donors.

Painted by visual artist MC Baldassari, the mural is a contemporary and colourful portrait that highlights the inestimable contribution of this exceptional, visionary, creative and energetic artist, in the heart of the neighbourhood where he grew up and began his musical career. The conductor is portrayed alongside the members of his orchestra, to show his collaborative spirit. With open arms, Yannick Nézet-Séguin is ready to give and receive, a testament to his exceptional relationship with the OM.

The inauguration was attended by Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough mayor, Émilie Thuillier, the artist and project partners.
