Scholarship in memory of Lise Beauchamp

New scholarship for the OMNI Competition

The OM is appealing to your generosity

On August 23, Lise Beauchamp, principal oboe with the OM for nearly 30 years, passed away at age 58. The Orchestre Métropolitain’s musicians, administration and audience remember her as a wonderful colleague and accomplished musician. A passionate educator and mentor, Lise was considered one of the best oboists in Canada. She shared her passion for the oboe and chamber music with young talent at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal for over 20 years. She also taught at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music and was a guest instructor at the Domaine Forget International Music and Dance Academy.

In memory of Lise, a great figure in classical music, the OM is proud to create a new scholarship that will be offered to one of the winners of the 5th OMNI Competition in spring 2023. We’re appealing to your generosity to contribute to this special scholarship that will help support the development of a young musician.
