The Orchestre Métropolitain invites you to a one-of-a-kind family event aimed at introducing your little ones to symphonic music. Under the baton of Nicolas Ellis, promising youth soloists perform works on the theme of childhood alongside the orchestra’s musicians.
Childhood is at the heart of this program. Embark on an adventure with Edmund Angerer’s celebrated Toy Symphony and Quebec composer Gabriel Dharmoo’s lance, frappe, devine, a new work vibrant with unusual and playful sounds. Debussy’s Children’s Corner expresses a sweet time of imagination. Ferdinand David’s Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra, Bartók’s Hungarian Peasant Dances (arranged for string orchestra by Jean Cousineau), and David Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody complete this charming concert.
