Rousso

At the keyboard from the age of four, Xavier Rousseau has been immersed in music his entire life. He was admitted to the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal at age 11, studying under the renowned Raoul Sosa, followed by Richard Raymond. He completed his master’s degree in classical piano performance with André Laplante. 

He has participated in numerous advanced training camps and international workshops, including in Germany with Kyoko Hashimoto and in Adamant, USA, with André Laplante. He has also been selected to perform in masterclasses for artists such as Lang Lang, Benedetto Lupo, John Perry, Jean Saulnier, Lorraine Desmarais, and Chilly Gonzales. 

Classically trained, Xavier has made a mark in many emerging artist competitions. Now performing under the name ROUSSO, he navigates effortlessly between electronic music, jazz, and pop composition. 

Since 2021, he has collaborated with Jeunesses Musicales Canada on the productions Jazz Noisette and Opéra Bonbon. He is also frequently invited by Fever to perform in their popular Candlelight Concerts across Canada. 

In 2023, Rousso was awarded the prestigious André Gagnon Prize by SPACQ as Instrumental Composer of the Year. 

He currently serves, among other roles, as Music Director for the show Broadway en lumière, produced by Productions Martin Leclerc. 

His two albums, ROSEMONT and ICEBERG, are available on all major streaming platforms.
