Antoine Mailloux
Antoine Mailloux started learning trumpet at the age of 11.
He discovered his love of brass when playing the mellophone with the Stentors de Sherbrooke, a marching band. A graduate of Cégep de Saint-Laurent, the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and winner of the Paul Merkelo Scholarship at the OSM Manulife Competition, Antoine also took part in the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, an international academy specialized in contemporary music where he worked with Marco Blaauw.
Antoine has been the principal trumpet of the Orchestre Métropolitain since 2023 and freelances with ensembles across the country, notably Les Violons du Roy, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
