Andrew Gray
Andrew Gray was appointed musical and artistic director in 2016.
He succeeded Gilbert Patenaude (from 1978 to 2016), Charles O. Dupuis (1968 to 1978) and the founder, Father Brault (1958 to 1968).
In addition to ensuring the quality of the training and performances of the PCMR, Andrew Gray conducts the chamber choir Voces Boreales as well as the vocal octet VB8. With them, he enjoys exploring the Scandinavian, Baltic and Canadian repertoire, commissioning works from numerous composers, for which he ensures the world premiere.
A high-level chorister himself, Andrew Gray has had the opportunity to sing on the biggest stages in the world, notably with the Swingle Singers, Tenebrae, Theater of Early Music and several others.
He also prepared the choirs for most of the major ensembles in Quebec such as the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
