The OM continues to roll out new initiatives like the OMNI Competition, master classes and the OM Preludes to encourage musical education, and to support and showcase young musical talent.
Comprised of Canadian musicians primarily trained in Quebec’s musical institutions, it’s only natural for the OM and its musicians, many of whom also teach, to share their knowledge and help people achieve their dreams of a career in music.
This competition brings together young people ages 7 to 17 and gives them the opportunity to share their talent in a stimulating environment. Through the competition, young people can make connections with other participants who share their passion and meet OM musicians.
As part of the OM’s 40th anniversary celebrations, the Orchestre has invited Canadian composers age 40 and under to submit an original symphonic work. The four winning pieces will be performed by OM musicians and conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin at the Beethoven Marathon in June 2021.
Registration period over.
OM Preludes is a platform for young musical talent. During this exceptional time, the OM Preludes are included in OM concert webcasts.
Every season, alongside educational partners, the OM offers a series of master classes given by its musicians, conductors and guest soloists.
