Rossinimania! | Sunday, July 31, 4 p.m.
The Orchestre Métropolitain presents a tribute to Rossini by a trio of gifted singers featuring Quebec mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb, American tenor Lawrence Brownlee and American bari-tenor Michael Spyres.
Epic Wagner | Saturday, August 6, 8 p.m.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts this showcasing three of today’s greatest Wagnerian singers, American soprano Christine Goerke, American tenor Brandon Jovanovich and German bass Franz-Josef Selig. An epic evening showcasing two masterpieces of the operatic repertoire.
Closing Concert: Nézet-Séguin and Grimaud | Sunday, August 7, 4 p.m.
Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann each embody in their own way the apotheosis of German Romanticism, while the writing of Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn, sister of the illustrious Felix, blends modernity and tradition, with innovative and daring harmonies. An exciting encounter between Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Orchestre Métropolitain and pianist Hélène Grimaud.
