His solid musicianship and strong adaptability allow him to move with ease between the classical and pop worlds. He has performed with several professional and university ensembles, including the National Youth Orchestra, Sinfonia de Lanaudière, the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra, and the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal Symphony Orchestra. He has also appeared in a number of filmed productions, notably Montréal s’allume, the 375th anniversary celebration of the City of Montréal, the television program Play on VrakTV, and the short film Aspiration, produced by the Montréal association of art schools.
Thierry made his solo debut in January 2019, performing Walton’s Viola Concerto with the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Andrei Feher. That same year, he appeared in the Rising Stars benefit concert of the Place des Arts Foundation and was selected as a scholarship recipient by both the Conservatoire de Montréal and the advanced program at Domaine Forget. His performances earned him support from several organizations, including Desjardins Group and the Conservatoire Foundation, as well as numerous distinctions.
His exceptional improvisational skills were quickly noticed by emerging artists such as Mélina Laplante, a participant on La Voix (2014), and Mégane Cyr, a RougeFM artist (2016), enabling him to further develop his experience in studio recording and live performance as a violist, keyboardist, and vocalist. As a member of the emerging pop band All At Once, he contributed to the composition and studio production of an EP and performed on the stages of several renowned Montréal venues, including L’Olympia, Place des Arts, and Le Lion d’Or.
He has taken part in numerous festivals as both a soloist and chamber musician, including the Lachine Schubert Festival, Domaine Forget summer sessions, and the National Youth Orchestra in the summer of 2018. A deeply engaged artist, he has also given performances in hospital, school, and community settings, using his eloquence and communication skills to actively involve audiences and raise awareness of classical music.
He obtained a Master’s degree with distinction from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 2020.
