Ways to boost the value of your donation

The Mécénat Placement Culture program aims to ensure the independence and financial security of non-profit cultural and communications organizations. This program fosters and supports the creation of permanent funds.

To do this, the funds collected are assigned to an associated foundation. Two foundations are linked to the Orchestre Métropolitain: the Foundation of Greater Montréal and the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal. They manage the funds created by requesting organizations.

Once per year, the foundations request access to government matching for the benefit of the organization.

When you donate to our endowment fund, your contribution, along with the matching grants from Mécénat Placement Culture, is dedicated in perpetuity. This means that only the annual investment returns can be utilized, ensuring the longevity of our activities and the impact of your donation.

By participating in this fundraising program, the Orchestre Métropolitain encourages individuals to make a donation of $10,000 to $25,000, which will be allocated to one of its endowment funds.

Donations of $25,000 or more allow the OM to request matching grants from one of the matching programs offered by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec and Heritage Canada.

This process can increase the capital contribution to the Orchestre Métropolitain from $25,000 to $250,000.

If the large cultural donation is at least $25,000, the large cultural donation measure can be used in conjunction with matching programs, if the measure has not previously been used by the individual.
