Introduction to symphonic music workshops
On Monday, June 13, we’ll hold our last introduction to symphonic music workshop of the season!
This Orchestre Métropolitain initiative, in collaboration with L’école et les arts, aims to bring the benefits of music to little ones at an early age.
This season, 550 children ages 3 to 7 experienced symphonic music for the first time through a series of virtual and in-person extracurricular workshops that explored the families of orchestral instruments!
These workshops were led by Noémie Caron-Marcotte and Julie Babaz, music education specialists . The students, from 3 CPEs and 5 elementary schools in Montréal, became acquainted with the world of symphonic music through song, making instruments and meeting professional musicians and conductors. Some students even got the opportunity to attend the OM’s concert, Nathalie Stutzman in her OM Debut!
All participants received a musical activity workbook and craft supplies in bags created by the Québécois company Confection Imagine.
This project was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, Énergir and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, our educational partner.
