Frequently asked questions

Q. Why should I make a donation to the Orchestre Métropolitain instead of asking for a reimbursement?

A. Your donations allow the OM, a charitable organisation, to continue to accomplish it’s mission: democratizing symphonic music and making it accessible to all by bringing it to audiences throughout Montreal’s numerous boroughs and schools, and especially during these trying times, directly to you at home through our series of free online concerts. Making a donation to the OM also encourages our own home-grown talent, the music and musicians of Canada.

Q. Is my donation eligible for a tax receipt?

A. Yes. A tax receipt will be sent by post or by email for any donation of $20 or more.

Q. What is happening with the subscription period for the 2020-2021 season?

A. The details of next season’s programming were unveiled last Thursday, March 12, at the same time that governmental authorities announced measures to control the pandemic. The brochure was sent to our subscribers and clientele. Our employees are working hard from home to help you with your subscription. As such, it is still possible to subscribe via our website, or telephone at 514-598-0870, extension 34. In light of the current situation, response times may be longer than usual. The deadline for current season subscribers to retain their seat has been extended to May 15.

Q. How long will it take to process my request?

A. Please note that response times may be longer than usual. We kindly ask that you refrain from calling to ask when you will receive a response. Our team is hard at work, but from home. This is an unprecedented situation and as such, we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Q. Will the cancelled concerts be rescheduled for a later date?

A. The cancelled concerts will not be rescheduled.

Q. Are the OM administrative offices or the customer service desks of the Place des Arts still open?

A. No. All employees of the OM and Place des Arts are currently working from home until further notice. All clients are therefore invited to communicate with us by phone (see contact information above).

For any other questions or requests, please contact the Box Office and Subscriber Service team by email at billetterie@orchestremetropolitain.com or by phone at 514-598-0870, ext. 33.
