Léa Moisan-Perrier

Artistic Director and Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique de l’Estuaire, Léa Moisan-Perrier is recognized for her vibrant stage presence, the sensitivity of her interpretations, the originality of her programming, and her strong communication skills.  

After two years in the conducting academy of the Orchestre Métropolitain, she was appointed assistant conductor to Yannick Nézet-Séguin for the 2025–2026 season. As part of this valuable collaboration, she assists him in a wide range of repertoire, both symphonic and operatic, including Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, Verdi’s Aida, and Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde. She will also make her debut with the Orchestre Métropolitain in December 2025. 

Frequently invited to conduct leading ensembles, she has collaborated with the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Orchestre classique de Montréal, and the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke.  

Her experience also includes significant assistant conductor roles alongside Jacques Lacombe at the Opéra national du Rhin (2018), Jean-Marie Zeitouni at the Opéra Orchestre national de Montpellier (2023), and Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Orchestre Métropolitain (2024). She has taken part in several masterclasses, including with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Rafael Payare (2024), and she currently serves as Associate Conductor with the Women in Musical Leadership program. 

In addition to her orchestral endeavors, Léa Moisan-Perrier has an outstanding career as a choral conductor. Since 2022, she serves as the Conductor of the prestigious Choir of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montreal. Under her dynamic and refined leadership, the ensemble presents an ambitious repertoire, featuring collaborations with Ensemble Caprice and the Musicians’ Association of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. From 2017 to 2023, she served as Artistic Director of the Chœur des enfants de Montréal, and from 2015 to 2022, she founded and led the vocal ensemble Les Voix parallèles. 

She holds a Master’s degree in orchestral conducting from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she studied with Jacques Lacombe and Jean-Marie Zeitouni. She also holds a Master’s in choral conducting from the Université de Sherbrooke, a Bachelor’s in classical voice from the Université de Montréal, and a Bachelor’s in piano from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Moulin Seigneurial Fellowship (2016), the Iwan Edwards Award (2017), and a Conservatoire Excellence Scholarship (2022).
