A devoted music lover and loyal friend of the Orchestre Métropolitain, Guy Rajotte chose to transform his love of music into a lasting legacy. Through his bequest, he continues today to pass on to future generations the emotions, wonder, and inspiration that music brought him throughout his life.
II. Passing It On
Grateful for all that music had brought to his life, Guy Rajotte chose to make a significant bequest to the Orchestre Métropolitain. By naming the Orchestra as the residuary universal beneficiary of his estate, he wished to give others the opportunity to experience those unique moments when music moves, inspires, and transforms.
Guy Rajotte was deeply moved by the OM’s artistic excellence. He was particularly sensitive to the musicians’ artistic commitment, which brought remarkable depth and expressive power to every performance. He also greatly admired Yannick Nézet-Séguin, whom he regarded as an exceptional conductor, capable of combining extraordinary musical mastery with profound humanity.
His bequest reflects a deep confidence in the future and a sincere desire to contribute to the vitality of symphonic music for generations to come.
III. The Legacy
Today, Guy Rajotte’s generosity continues to bear fruit. By choosing to include the Orchestre Métropolitain in his will, he ensured that the values he held dear would continue to live on through music. His gift will enable others to discover, in turn, the same emotion, wonder, and sense of belonging that he himself experienced through the OM.
