The OM on Euro Tour - Orchestre Métropolitain

Like a river that flows beyond borders, music unites hearts regardless of origin. It transcends differences by drawing on what connects us all: emotion.

With Eko-Bmijwang (As Long as the River Flows) by Indigenous composer Barbara Assiginaak, the audience was gently carried along. Then came the whirlwind of Ravel’s La Valse, sweeping listeners away, followed by the dazzling lyricism of Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2. And when the passionate surges of Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony rang out—a work that marked Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s very first concert as Artistic Director of the OM 25 years ago—emotion reached its peak.
This deeply symbolic program carried the OM’s second European tour, resonating powerfully at every stop.

Note: In Brussels, Pathétique was exceptionally replaced by Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2.
In Baden-Baden, on June 29, an entirely different program was performed.

The Orchestre Métropolitain extends its heartfelt thanks to the generous partners and donors of this tour: the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation, the Jacques Marchand Foundation, its International Outreach Partner Tourisme Montréal, its official air carrier Air Canada, the Government of Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Government of Canada, as well as Jean-Jacques Laurans and Antoine Chagnon.

The OM on European Tour

In June 2025, the Orchestre Métropolitain and its conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin set off for the Old Continent to perform in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls.

This long-awaited return followed the resounding success of their 2017 European tour — the OM’s very first abroad.
