Passe-Partout at the Symphony

Arr. François Vallières

It’s Grandma’s birthday! Passe-Partout, Passe-Carreau and Passe-Montagne are going to celebrate by preparing a nice picnic for her!

Except that Grandma’s late. While they wait, the three friends sing, play guessing games and dance … Thanks to their wild imaginations, they can always keep themselves busy, to the delight of their young friends!

A perfect match

The first time that Passe-Partout and the OM came together was in 2018 at the Symphonie de Télé-Québec. For the TV station’s 50-year anniversary, Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducted a concert featuring musical excerpts from flagship shows.

Obviously, Passe-Partout was in the spotlight with all her friends who have shaped the childhoods of young Quebecers. After hearing the symphonic versions of “Les beaux légumes,” “Bedon Bedondaine,” “Les maisons” and “Les grenouilles,” it was clear that we needed more!

With musicians smiling ear to ear, an emotion greater than nostalgia was palpable in the Maison symphonique—the audience was thrilled to rediscover the music in a new light. Télé-Québec and the Orchestre Métropolitain were ready to build on this strong relationship.

And what a relationship! The adventure led to more than just concerts. While the OM invited Passe-Partout to the Maison symphonique, the Passe-Partout team invited the OM to grace the screens of young Passe-Partout fans and introduce them to music in the show’s sixth season.

And now it’s official—Passe-Partout at the Symphony will be broadcast on television! We bet that our youngest audience members will want to watch the concert again and again.

The OM and Passe-Partout are perfect fit!
