Youth Spirit | Music at the Movies: Génial!
* in French only
Presented by Télé-Québec and Association Minière du Québec

The Orchestre Métropolitain invites you to its symphonic matinées, which will be held on Tuesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the Théâtre Outremont.

Please note that all our school matinées are sold out.

Like the broom in Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the OM will come to life under the baton of Nicolas Ellis in this cinematic concert. Rossini’s William Tell overture will have us charging through the Swiss Alps and fairies will guide us in the waltz from Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty. Sopranio Catherine St-Arnaud will perform the Jewel Song, which everyone knows from Tintin’s The Castafiore Emerald adventure. The atmosphere will take a more somber turn when oboist Mathias Leclerc and cellist Eva Lesage perfom famous tunes from the films Missionand Schindler’s List. Lastly, dawn will break with excerpts from the Peer Gynt suite as we enter the strangely familiar hall of the Mountain King.

*** SOLD OUT ***

The school matinées are for preschool and elementary school students.

Learning material (a teaching document) will be emailed at least one month before the performances.
