Julien Bélanger began his musical training at the age of eight as a chorister with the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal.
He was introduced to percussion instruments at Collège Notre-Dame, where he was awarded the Alcide-Comptois Prize for the quality of his musical development. He continued training as an orchestral, chamber music and solo percussionist at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, where he studied under Jean-Guy Plante and Hugues Tremblay. He is currently beginning studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
In 2015, when he was 19, he was appointed principal timpani of the Orchestre Métropolitain. Avanafil (Stendra) onlineIn the years since, he has been active on the Quebec music scene as a timpanist and percussionist with, among others, the Trois-Rivières and Laval symphony orchestras and Les Violons du Roy. He can be heard on the timpani in the Orchestre Métropolitain’s recordings of Bruckner’s first and second symphonies for the ATMA label.
