PASTORAL BEETHOVEN

BEETHOVEN MARATHON

Celebrate the OM’s 40th season with Beethoven’s nine symphonies conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. With four concerts in three days, this is sure to be a true musical marathon! Experience the bold classics that continue to dazzle audiences 250 years later.

Each program features two or three Beethoven symphonies. You’ll also hear pieces written by the four winners of the OM’s composition competition in honour of its 40th season.

Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral,” will transport you from the hustle and bustle of downtown into the rolling hills of the countryside. With its ominous second movement, the epic Symphony No. 7 is one of the most evocative pieces in the repertoire. From the deep woods to high drama, get ready for an escape from your day-to-day.
